About me

I have over 20 years of experience and success in the creation of high quality artwork designed to withstand the rigours of the public space. Works have been in 3 dimensions, as well as ground and wall based relief. Over the years I have made new works for town centres, community gardens, public recreation grounds, local authority buildings, housing association developments as well as libraries, hospitals and health centres.

Installation Day at Wolverton Mill

The work was delivered to site on Wednesday 18th May. It rained and it hailed but this didn’t stop the work progressing.

Many thanks to Miletree Construction for their assistance with the installation of the works.

The children’s pieces produced during workshop session last March are also in place and looking really good. Hopefully all those involved will be happy seeing their work in situ, and will be proud of their achievements.

Workshop at Barton St. Peter’s C of E Primary School, Barton upon Humber

This week workshops were held at Barton St. Peter’s C of E Primary School, Barton upon Humber in connection with the commission we are doing for The Ropewalk Gallery.

The children from year six worked on relief tiles which will become a permanent piece of artwork to be displayed in the school.

The children painted their tiles with a faux patina to resemble rusted metal.

Although the children all used exactly the same materials and paints every tile is individual. It is lovely how they have all turned out different colours as if at different stages of rusting. The completed tiles will be mounted on boards. These will be displayed at The Ropewalk for a short time before returning to the school where they will be on permanent display.

Designs for Susan Carnegie Centre, Stracathro Hospital, Brechin

Last Thursday I presented designs at Stracathro Hospital near Brechin. We had been invited by Tayside NHS to bid for a project to create a sculptural seating element for the newly opened Susan Carnegie Centre at the hospital. Happily we won the contract, this will be our first project in our native Scotland which makes it doubly pleasing to have achieved.

Some further design development will now take place before fabrication. The piece will be complete later in the year. As ever I will be posting regularly as the project progresses.
