About me

I have over 20 years of experience and success in the creation of high quality artwork designed to withstand the rigours of the public space. Works have been in 3 dimensions, as well as ground and wall based relief. Over the years I have made new works for town centres, community gardens, public recreation grounds, local authority buildings, housing association developments as well as libraries, hospitals and health centres.

Swans

Today I spent some time cleaning my newly installed Swans, touching up the paint work where necessary.

Whilst on the other side of the road Martin and his colleague finished installing the last pieces.
Over the weekend I will finish off the final clean up. Once all the barriers are removed I'll be able to take some more photos.

It was quite nice working on site today. Despite all the negative reports the local paper has chosen to print regarding the Renaissance project all I received was positive feedback from passers by. Comments ranged from, "very good" to "well it's about time we had something nice to look at in Selby". I was pleasantly surprised by this and it just goes to show that people do appreciate the effort put into regenerating areas such as the waterfront.... despite what the press might say!

Sited Swans July 2009

Work began installing the Swans on Thursday 30th July and was completed on Friday 31st.

Funny!

A little force being applied to bed the pieces in.

Pointing the gap.

Number 1 Swan

I'm hoping for some photos with nice shadows cast by the sculptures.

Re-launch and me July 2009

Re-launch sited July 2009

At last things are happening. Thursday 30th of June saw the installation of Re-launch. This was quite an exciting day for me as this piece has been sitting outside my studio for some time. These pictures show the work almost completed... there is still a little bit of pointing to do on the base.
(No that is not me on the forklift. One of the builders kindly offered to take the wrapping off for me as the forklift driver averted his eyes!!)

The dramatic sky sets the piece off really well.

Re-launch base July 2009

After months of waiting, months of wondering when, months of tripping over the pallet in the studio... the base for Re-launch was sited today. Things are finally moving and my project is nearing completion. Tomorrow (hopefully... weather permitting) the Swans will be installed. On Thursday Re-launch will go in and then that just leaves the Time Line... Watch this space!

Official Opening of Ysbyty Alltwen, Tremadog, North Wales

Edwina Hart Welsh Minister for Health and Social Services officially opened the hospital on July 2nd 2009.
Speaches were given in both Welsh and English, on one of the hottest days in my memory!!
It was nice to revisit the hospital now it is finally completed. When I installed my piece, nearly 18 months ago, the site was still under construction. The hospital is one of the most beautiful buildings I've made art-work for.
